The Journal contains high-quality article submissions that are primarily educational and have a high emphasis on school social work practice and practioner reviews of relevant books. Publishes research covering every aspect of social work, with papers reporting research. A systematic review yielding 11 studies revealed that social workers perform well-known generalist practitioner roles like advocacy, collaboration, education, facilitation and provider of psychosocial support which emphasises the need to involve social workers in inclusive schools. The importance of evidence-based practice has been magnified by the increasing demand to demonstrate student outcomes. The initial purpose of IJSSW is to expand the quantitative and qualitative research base supporting school social work services throughout the world.
